# Tone

The TONE tab gathers every tone control in two cards, ordered by where they sit in the chain. PRE-REVERB shapes the signal on its way into the reverb stages; POST-REVERB shapes the output after all of them. The controls belong to three different stages, so each follows that stage's MIX, BYPASS and SOLO.

## PRE-REVERB

These belong to the **Source** stage and shape the signal before Densification hears it. They are inaudible while the Source MIX is at 0, and they leave the master dry untouched.

| Control | Range | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| **warmth** | -6 to +6 dB | 0 dB | Low shelf at 200 Hz. Positive adds body; negative thins the input. *EXPERT view.* |
| **brightness** | -6 to +6 dB | 0 dB | High shelf at 5 kHz. Lifts or tames the high end feeding the reverb. *EXPERT view.* |
| **presence** | -6 to +6 dB | 0 dB | Broadband gain on the source. *EXPERT view.* |

In MINIMAL the **Tone** macro moves all three.

### Densifier EQ

Under **\[+] DENSIFIER EQ** (EXPERT view) are four controls that belong to the **Densification** stage. **top boost** and **low cut** shape what the cascade hears; **dry top** and **dry top Hz** shape the source the stage carries through at **direct**.

| Control | Range | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| **top boost** | -12 to +6 dB | +3 dB | High shelf at 5 kHz on the cascade's input. Lifts the high-frequency content the sparse filters shape. |
| **low cut** | 20 to 500 Hz | 200 Hz | High-pass at 12 dB per octave on the cascade's input, which keeps the cascade out of the bass. At the default 200 Hz it is about 40 dB down at 20 Hz. No effect while the MULTIBAND bass split is engaged. |
| **dry top Hz** | 500 Hz to 20 kHz | 8 kHz | Corner frequency of the **dry top** shelf. |
| **dry top** | -12 to 0 dB | 0 dB | High-shelf cut on the source carried through the stage at **direct**, so the densified field can take over the top end. |

## POST-REVERB

This card is the **Tone** stage.

| Control | Range | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| **tilt** | -6 to +6 dB | 0 dB | Leans the whole output brighter (positive) or darker (negative). A 31-band, third-octave EQ from 20 Hz to 20 kHz carries it, each band's gain running in a straight line from **-tilt** at 20 Hz to **+tilt** at 20 kHz. |

On a multichannel output the tilt acts on every output, the Dry object included.
