# COST and SESSION

Two cards at the bottom of the plugin window report on the running stream. Both show a dash in every row until START. COST updates every 5 seconds, and SESSION continuously. In [RECEIVE](/remote/receiving/receive) a RECEIVE card takes their place.

## COST

COST shows what a relayed stream is costing, in time and channels, priced from the published price.

| Row | Shows | Example |
| - | - | - |
| **RATE** | channels × listeners the relay is reaching, and what an hour at that width costs past the included hours | 8 CH x 3 LISTENERS · 48 JPY/HOUR |
| **SESSION** | the charge this START has added beyond the included hours | 14 JPY |
| **INCLUDED** | channel-listener-hours left of the month's 50, and the last day of the month | 32 OF 50 CH-H LEFT · TO 31 OCT |
| **MONTH** | the plan and the month's usage so far | 200 JPY PLAN + 96 JPY USAGE |

RATE is 2 JPY × channels × listeners. A 7.1 stream (8 channels) reaching 3 listeners is 48 JPY an hour once the included hours are used, and SESSION stays at 0 JPY while the included hours last. The month ends at midnight UTC on the last day shown, and included hours do not roll over.[^1]

A Direct stream shows **PEER TO PEER · NOT BILLED** in RATE and nothing else, since it is never metered. A relayed stream that is not billed (a trial's free hour) shows its width and **NOT BILLED**.

When the computer's region is set outside Japan, each yen figure has a dollar figure beside it, as **48 JPY (\$0.32)**.[^2]

Your nomn.jp account page shows the same month to date.

## SESSION

| Cell | Shows |
| - | - |
| **LISTENERS** | listeners receiving the stream, out of the link's limit (**3 of 50**) |
| **QUEUED** | in Direct, listeners waiting for the one direct connection; 0 on the relay |
| **THROUGHPUT** | what the plugin is uploading, in Mbps, measured each second |
| **UPTIME** | time since START, as hours, minutes and seconds |
| **PACKETS** | audio packets sent since START |
| **DROPPED** | packets the plugin could not send |
| **LISTENER DROPOUTS** | interruptions your listeners heard, as their pages report them |
| **RECONNECTS** | times the plugin lost its connection to our server and reconnected |

### DROPPED

DROPPED counts audio the plugin discarded before it reached the network, in two cases. The upload could not keep up, so the queue of packets waiting to leave filled and new packets were dropped to keep listeners near real time; or the DAW handed over audio faster than the plugin's sending thread could take it, which happens when the computer is overloaded. Listeners hear each dropped packet as a short gap. A count that climbs steadily usually means the upload is too slow for the stream; see [Network](/remote/reference/network), and consider LOW BANDWIDTH.

### LISTENER DROPOUTS

LISTENER DROPOUTS is the total of the interruptions every listener page on the link has heard since it opened: its buffer ran dry because audio arrived late, or a burst of late audio overflowed it. Each listener's page reports its own count, so this readout covers Direct and Relay alike.

Hold the pointer over **LISTENER DROPOUTS** to see the count for each listener (up to six, most dropouts first), each with a short id, its count, and the last reason the page gave:

| Reason | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **CLEAN** | no dropouts |
| **BUFFER RAN DRY (AUDIO ARRIVING LATE)** | packets arrived more slowly than the listener played them |
| **ARRIVAL GAP N MS** | audio stopped arriving for N milliseconds and then resumed |
| **NO AUDIO ARRIVING FOR N MS** | audio has stopped arriving, and the gap is still open |
| **LATE BURST OVERFLOWED THE BUFFER** | delayed audio arrived all at once, more than the buffer holds |

Each row also says how long ago the last dropout was, and **LEFT** for a listener who has closed the page. A count that climbs for one listener alone points at that listener's connection (see [Troubleshooting](/remote/reference/troubleshooting)).

[^2]: The dollar figure is an approximate conversion for reference. Billing is in yen.
