# Licensing

RESERVOIR uses the shared NOMN licensing server. The license dialog is reached by clicking the **License** status indicator in the bottom credits bar.

## Free 14-day Trial

Register at [nomn.jp](https://nomn.jp) to receive a free 14-day trial key. Paste it into the license dialog and the plugin will validate it against the server, store it locally, and unlock for the duration of the trial. The remaining trial time is shown in the dialog whenever you reopen it.

## Purchase

Purchase a full license at [nomn.jp](https://nomn.jp). After purchase, you receive a license key tied to the email address you used at checkout. Enter the key in the license dialog the same way you would a trial key — the server determines whether it is a paid license or a trial.

## License States

The license dialog shows one of three states:

| State        | What it shows                                                                              | Buttons                      |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------- |
| Unlicensed   | "Enter your license key to unlock RESERVOIR. Register at nomn.jp for a free 14-day trial." | Text entry, Activate, Cancel |
| Trial active | Trial time remaining + a masked copy of the key + purchase CTA                             | OK, Remove License           |
| Licensed     | The registered email + a masked copy of the key                                            | OK, Remove License           |

When unlicensed (or after a trial expires), the plugin loads in the host and the UI is fully visible, but no audio or MIDI is generated until a valid key is entered.

## System Requirements

* **OS:** macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel universal)
* **Formats:** VST3, Audio Unit (AU)
* **DAW:** Any VST3 or AU-compatible host
