Licence and free trial

NOMN REMOTE streams only with a licence. Without one, START opens the licence dialog and nothing is sent, while the track’s own audio still passes through the plugin, so a cue track on which it sits keeps working for the engineer. The licence status sits at the left of the bottom bar: Licensed, Trial with the time remaining, Validating…, or Unlicensed - stream off. Click it to open the licence dialog.

Free trial

Register at nomn.jp for a free trial key. No card is needed, and each email address gets one trial. The trial key unlocks the plugin for 14 days and includes: The 60 minutes count only while the relay is reaching at least one listener, so a paused session or an empty link uses none of it. While some is left, the status line under START shows FREE HOUR: N MIN LEFT, and your nomn.jp account page shows the minutes left. When the free hour is used, the relay stops for that licence. The plugin says FREE HOUR USED: SUBSCRIBE AT NOMN.JP TO RELAY and serves a listener directly, and the listener page tells relayed listeners that the host’s free hour is used up. Later STARTs on the same licence or email address begin in Direct.1 A fifth listener on a trial link sees This link is full. It already has 4 listeners. Before START the REMOTE LISTENER LINK caption shows the subscription limit of 50 with RELAY on; once START has made the link it shows the link’s own limit, 4 on a trial.

Subscription

A subscription licence relays to up to 50 listeners per link and is billed by use. See Pricing.

Receiving and the mixing page

RECEIVE needs a licence or a trial, as START does. The mixing page asks for your licence or trial key before it goes on air, and the mix is billed to it.

Activate a key

  1. Click the licence status in the bottom bar (or press START while unlicensed).
  2. Paste the key into License Key and press Activate.
  3. The plugin checks the key with nomn.jp and stores it on this computer.
The dialog has three states: Remove License clears the key from this computer.

Footnotes

  1. A listener whose direct connection cannot form is moved to the relay in a subscription session. Once a trial’s free hour is used, that fallback is gone, and such a listener cannot hear the stream. See Direct and Relay. ↩
