Modulation
Each band has one modulation signal, which drives both the brightness of its phaser’s vactrol and the movement of its panner. The signal comes from the band’s Mod Source:
Mod Source and Sync Rate are set per band through host automation (Mod Source and Sync Rate in each band’s parameter list). A band copied with Copy band settings carries its Mod Source and Sync Rate to the bands it is pasted to.
NOMN
NOMN generates continuous curves that do not repeat. All 8 bands read from one shared trajectory, so the bands move together, and each band adds its own amount of variation on top so that they drift slightly apart. Each CHAKRABOOST instance has its own random seed, saved with the DAW session. Every time the transport starts, NOMN restarts its motion from that seed, wherever the playhead is, so two renders of a session that start at the same position move the same way, and a reopened session renders as it did when it was saved. Presets do not carry the seed: two instances loaded with the same preset still move independently.NOMN card
Rate smooths the trajectory before it reaches the band. At low settings the band follows only the slow movements of the curve; as Rate rises it follows more of the curve’s detail.
Rhythm and Artic move the band to a different part of NOMN’s range of motion, which changes the timing and shape of what it plays. The two interact. Set them by ear; giving neighbouring bands different values makes them move in related, distinct patterns.
Jitter adds a random variation unique to each band. At 0 every band with the same Rhythm and Artic follows the same curve; at 1 the bands drift well apart while still following the shared motion.
N.Depth is scaled by INTENSITY on the MIX tab.
The LFO scope on the card draws the band’s modulation signal (the soloed band’s, if one is soloed). A small dot next to the NOMN heading lights when NOMN is ready. If it ever stays dark, bands set to NOMN run the Free LFO triangle at their Rate instead.
Tempo Sync
Tempo Sync replaces the trajectory with a sine wave whose phase is computed from the host’s song position, so its peaks land in the same place against the bar on every pass. Sync Rate chooses the period:
When the transport is stopped, the wave holds at the value for the current song position. If the host reports no tempo, CHAKRABOOST assumes 120 BPM. In Tempo Sync the Rate knob does not change the sine.
