Quick Start

1. Insert ANTIVERB

Insert ANTIVERB on an audio track or bus. Every stage MIX starts at zero, so the first thing you hear is the source unchanged, and the window opens on the DENSIFICATION tab in the MINIMAL view.

2. Raise Densification

Raise MIX in the DENSIFICATION header. The densified field now plays beside the source. sheen (default 35 %) sets how much of the cascade returns; length (default 1.2 s) sets how long the densified field lasts.

3. Change the Shape

Turn shape through its eight positions: Regular, Golden, Even, Natural, Branching, Prime, Chaos, Voice. The tap count stays the same and only the placement in time changes, and each placement gives the sound a different grain. Golden is the default.

4. Add a Room

Raise MIX on the REFLECTIONS tab for early reflections, and the DIFFUSION MIX below it to blur them. Raise MIX on SPACE for a late tail; on a stereo track the Space MIX is a crossfade, so values below 100 % keep the densified sound under the tail.1 The tail follows the active shape, so changing shape also changes the tail. For a dense sound with no audible room, leave these at zero.

5. Use SOLO

Each stage header has a SOLO. Solo DENSIFICATION to hear only that stage while you adjust it, then release it to hear the stage in context. One stage can be soloed at a time.

6. Switch Views

The MINIMAL / EXPERT button in the header switches every tab between a few macro knobs and the full control set. Each macro moves two to seven underlying parameters together and write the same values the EXPERT knobs do. See Macros.

7. Open the Codex

Click CODEX for a description of every control on the current tab, with its range and default. See Codex.

8. Go Multichannel

On a surround bus, open SPATIAL. Pick the speaker layout that matches your room under LAYOUT, then place the four objects (Dry, Density, Reflections, Space) independently. When the host’s bus format names an LFE channel (a 5.1 or 7.1.4 bus, for example), ANTIVERB treats that output as a subwoofer on its own. Choosing 5.1, 7.1, Atmos 7.1.4 or Atmos 9.1.6 under LAYOUT also makes output 4 a Sub at Centre. On any other rig, when the bus names no LFE, set the subwoofer output’s role to Sub under OUTPUT SPEAKERS (EXPERT view). See Spatial Objects and Speaker Layout.

Footnotes

  1. On a multichannel bus with SPATIAL engaged, Space is its own object and its MIX sets the tail’s level beside the other objects. See Signal Chain. ↩
