Troubleshooting
ANTIVERB Outputs Silence
The footer reads Unlicensed or Revoked. ANTIVERB outputs silence until a trial or licence key is activated. See Licensing.Inserting ANTIVERB Changes Nothing
Every stage MIX starts at zero, so a fresh instance passes the source unchanged. Raise the MIX of the stage you want to hear. A checked BYPASS turns a stage off, and a SOLO on another stage bypasses every stage but that one.Warmth, Brightness or Presence Have No Effect
These three belong to the Source stage, so they follow the SOURCE tab’s MIX and BYPASS. Raise the Source MIX.Distance or Air Absorption Have No Effect
Both act on the dry signal and on everything the reverb stages hear, at any DRY / WET. Check that the Source BYPASS is unchecked, since it turns them off. At the default distance of 1 m the level is unchanged, and the high-frequency loss from air absorption is small below about 5 m.The Densified Sound Disappears When Space Is Raised
On a stereo output the Space MIX crossfades from everything before it to the tail, so at 100 % only the tail remains. Lower values keep both. See Signal Chain. The Host Reports CPU Overloads
The CPU meter in the footer shows the instance’s load. The heaviest settings are depth at max on DENSIFICATION, a high count, density at Maximum on SPACE and a high output channel count. Moving depth off max, lowering count, or setting density to High or Medium lowers the load. The SPATIAL Tab Has No Effect
On a stereo output the spatial routing is off, and ANTIVERB runs as a stereo processor. Insert it on a track or bus with more than two output channels, and check that BYPASS in the SPATIAL ROUTING header is unchecked.Elevation and Tilt Have No Effect
Elevation and tilt (z) need height speakers. On a flat rig (stereo, quad, 5.1, 7.1 or a ring) sources are panned by azimuth only. The LFE Speaker Plays the Reverb
In the 5.1, 7.1, Atmos 7.1.4 and Atmos 9.1.6 layouts output 4 is a Sub, and on any rig an output the host’s bus format names as LFE resolves to Sub; a Sub gets no panned reverb. Panned reverb reaches the LFE speaker in two cases: the rig is the seeded ring or a Custom layout and the bus names no LFE, or its role is set by hand to Full or Small. In either case set its role to Sub under OUTPUT SPEAKERS (EXPERT view). See Speaker Layout. The Speaker Layout Shows a Ring of Speakers
On a channel count it has not seen, ANTIVERB seeds an even ring. Choose the matching layout from the LAYOUT menu.Loading a Preset Did Not Change the Speakers
Presets never carry the speaker rig, the output roles and trims, the bass crossover, the sub level or the listener position. These describe your room and stay as you set them.ANTIVERB Does Not Appear in the Host
Restart the host after installing. On macOS, check that the bundles are in~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ and ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/. On Windows, check that ANTIVERB.vst3 is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\. For Audio Units, the install script clears the Audio Unit cache; after a manual install, the host’s plug-in rescan picks the plug-in up.
